Rehabilitation
A team of occupation therapists, physical therapists, rehabilitation aides and registration representatives comprises SRMF's Rehabilitation Services Department.
Our occupational therapists are hand therapy specialists who treat elbows, wrists and hands. They are skilled at designing custom hand splints, and they show patients ways to perform daily activities with less strain on painful joints. Our physical therapists help patients with back and neck pain, joint problems (such as arthritis and joint replacements), fractures, and tendonitis.
"What we do is quite simple. We teach our patients to stretch, strengthen and also retrain them for better function," says Rich Adkins, supervisor of physical therapy at the Mason Street care center. The therapists strive to make therapy fun, enjoyable and educational, and work hard to teach patients how to maintain the function they gain through therapy.
"Our team works closely together to ensure our patients receive the highest level of quality care coupled with compassion," says Curt Osuga, manager of Rehabilitation Services.
