Solano Regional Medical Group ranked as ‘Exemplary’

Last Wednesday, the California Association of Physician Groups (CAPG) announced results from its recent annual Standards of Excellence (SOE) survey of medical group members. The survey allows for a critical, voluntary self-assessment for medical groups in the United States.

Four primary areas are measured: health information technology; care management practices; accountability and transparency; and patient centered care. Groups that receives four stars is ranked as “elite”; three stars as “exemplary”; two stars as “commendable”; and one star as “meritorious. Groups that submit data but don’t meet any of the criteria are deemed “participants.”

In Solano County, Solano Regional Medical Group (SRMG), the multispecialty medical group affiliated with Sutter Regional Medical Foundation, surpassed the threshold in three of four categories and was ranked by CAPG as “exemplary”. SRMG is the county’s largest medical group and is a recipient of numerous awards and recognitions, including Four Stars from the California Office of the Patient Advocate and the Top Overall Performance Award from the California Integrated Healthcare Association.

SRMG was the only group in Solano County to receive an “exemplary” ranking. “We’re honored to receive this distinction,” says Samuel Santoro, D.O., OB/GYN, president of Solano Regional Medical Group. “I’m truly proud of the hard work and dedication from our doctors and clinicians that earned us this ranking.”

The data provided by the SOE program enhances the partnership between health care providers and patients, which will in turn result in enhanced service, quality and patient safety—primary focus areas of Solano Regional Medical Group and Sutter Regional Medical Foundation.
