Cardiology
Sutter Regional Medical Foundation's Cardiology Department evaluates and manages the care of patients with heart and cardiovascular diseases and conditions.
The department offers consultations and a variety of services including EKG, echocardiography (ultrasound imaging), stress echo, holter monitoring (24 hour heart monitor), cardiac event monitoring (for 2 weeks), and a pacemaker clinic for follow-up checks. In a hospital setting, our cardiologists also perform procedures such as heart angiograms, pacemaker insertion, cardioversion (electrical shocks to the heart to correct irregular beats), defibrillator implants, and balloon angioplasty (stents).
Our cardiologists work closely with all the physicians in our group, providing referral consultations and advice.
HMO patients must be referred to the Cardiology Department by their primary care provider.
